Description: Why Camp Chikopi?
Since 1920, Chikopi has offered boys the finest mixture of a traditional sports and wilderness camp experience. Our 400 acres are located on Ahmic Lake in the Almaguin Highlands.
At Chikopi, we live in a close community of friendship and adventure. Our campers discover the rewards of being in a spectacular natural setting without technology’s distractions. They thrive on the Chikopi traditions of teamwork and leadership.
Our highly trained staff of counselors and instructors provide the crucial 3:1 ratio that ensures individual attention for every boy. Many of our Staff have been developed through our camper ranks to counselor and staff, they were chosen for their skills and personality, to guide and encourage the next generation.
Chikopi can accommodate 85 campers, aged 7-17. We represent over 12 nations including USA and Canada.
Sessions are 2, 4 or 7 weeks long. Transport is available from Toronto on scheduled session dates. We take canoe trips, in our trademark green and white cedar strip canoes, on a cruise throughout the 3,000 square miles of Algonquin Provincial Park and other lakes and rivers in the region.
Some of our camp activities include, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, Softball, Cricket, Archery, Lacrosse, Wrestling, Mountain Biking, Swimming, Kayaking, and Sailing. We have weekly sporting activities with our sister camp.
Bob Duenkel has been the Director for 36 years.
Chikopi is Accredited by the Ontario Camping Association.
