  • Description:

Summer JAM is leadership training for teens passionate about politics, community service, and Judaism. Come to Washington, D.C. this summer and participate in a one-of-a-kind program on the campus of The George Washington University. You’ll join a diverse group of Jewish high school students from across the country in a challenging and inspiring exploration of the connection between community service, activism, and Judaism. Over the course of a month you will:

    · Serve inspiring organizations that tackle some of society’s most challenging issues.

    · Advocate in hands-on lobbying sessions with public | officials. You’ll learn the ABC’s of effective advocacy from leading activists and policy makers.

    · Learn what’s Jewish about politics and community service.

    · Live as part of a vibrant community of Jewish teens from across the country and from all denominational affiliations.

Summer JAM will affect the way you think about the world…Judaism…and yourself! Here's what some of our past participants had to say:

"I loved being able to study and do justice, to take my Judaism and help do things that are important for the world, and have fun while doing it." Adina Koch, New Milford, CT

"Summer JAM made me realize how I can make a difference by getting involved in community service work. It opened up my eyes to the inequalities in the world and how people are trying to change them and how I can help. I also made me see how Judaism looked at such current issues and approached them, what advice it gave so I could come to my own conclusion about how I felt about the issue." Emily Gardner, Los Alamos, NM

"PANIM was such a great experience for me. I loved the program more than any other summer experience. It taught me that Jews can’t just sit back and watch the world go by. We have to work at fixing it." Dayne Seiden, Short Hills, NJ
